What are gutters, eavestroughs, and downspouts?
Here is an explanation of what a gutter (another name is eavestrough) and a downspout are:
A rain gutter (eavestrough) is a component of a water discharge system for a building. It is necessary to prevent water from dripping or flowing off roofs in an uncontrolled manner for several reasons: to prevent it from damaging the walls, drenching persons standing below or entering the building, and to direct the water to a suitable disposal site where it will not damage the foundations of the building (C) Wikipedia
When your eavestrough (gutters) accumulate leaves and twigs, pine needles and cones, little rocks from asphalt shingles, and dust, they stop draining and the entire system gets compromised. After some time clogged gutters (eavestroughs) and downspouts will transition from a cleaning problem to more expensive structural problems: sagging gutters, sloping problem, and leaky gutters. It’s much cheaper to clean eavestrough (gutters) and downspouts than to repair them.

What is a walk-out?
When a house has a walk-out means the house is built on a slope and, if counted from the ground, the house has an extra story in the back. In the picture below, you can see a one-story house with a walk-out.
Why is it important for us to know if you have a walk-out? The gutters at the front are 1-story high, but the gutters at the back are 2-story high, so we need a taller ladder or even different equipment etc.
What is a gutter cover (guard, screen)
Gutter cover – or its other names ‘gutter screen’, ‘gutter guard’, or ‘leave guard’ – supposedly prevents debris from entering your rain gutters. In the picture below, you can see a traditional gutter screen covering a gutter.
Why is it important for us to know if you have gutter covers? If we come to clean your gutters and they have gutter screens, we would have to unscrew all of them, clean the gutters, and screw the screens back on. This will usually double our work time, increase the ‘falling object’ hazard tremendously, and exhaust technicians much more than any regular cleaning.
