GENERAL:

1. You know your property better.
Please let us know of anything that we should keep in mind while performing the job at your property: safety hazards, locked gates, agitated neighbors, special areas, etc.

2. Weather and safety.
We have no control over the weather, unfortunately. We may have to reschedule or stop the work if the weather is changing drastically. We usually can’t work on wet, frosty, or snowy roofs. It’s for your and our safety. We can’t work in the strong wind either. The safety of our crew and customers is our first priority.

3. Liability of the company.
We are responsible only for our own negligence. We assume no liability of any kind for loss or damage to property caused by a third party or the owner.

4. Add-On services.
Please order add-on services prior to the job, so we can plan our visit accordingly (time, equipment allocation, skilled technicians). Please don’t assume that we’ll do something only because we see a necessity for it, you need to make a request.

5. Warranty.
5.1. All gutter & downspout repairs, including re-caulking and extensions, have a one-month warranty (industry average).
5.2. If you purchase the Budget package there is no warranty on gutter cleaning. It’s a low-cost option for people, that need to get it done and move on. We will still do our job well (it’s essential for our reputation). Nevertheless, we won’t provide any pictures, nor will we come back to check anything free of charge for the Budget package, unfortunately. The Value and Premium packages have the CLOG-FREE guarantee* and pictures included. Please choose the package that suits you well.
5.3. Window washing service has a warranty of 48 hrs (industry average), so please let us know if you see any problems and we’ll come back to fix everything right away, free of charge for you. We can’t control Calgary street sweeping or pollination, so we don’t offer warranty coverage for that, unfortunately.
5.4. Pressure washing service has a warranty of 48 hrs (industry average), so please let us know if you see any problems and we’ll come back to fix everything right away, free of charge for you.

GUTTER CLEANING:

G1. We are a CLEANING team.
We guarantee that your eavestroughs, gutters, and downspouts are clean for water flow when we have finished.
However, we have no control over the layout- or age issues of your rain gutter system, unfortunately. Yes, we will remove all clogs & debris. We can even rinse, wash, or wipe your gutters (for additional charges).
At the same time, if your gutters are sagging, have a wrong pitch, or your downspout extensions have too many elbows, we can’t fix it with cleaning, you need to hire a gutter repair company. When you visit a car wash, you don’t expect them to fix the car’s mechanical issues, so please don’t expect us to fix the structural problems of your gutters with cleaning.
Please keep in mind, that when it’s raining hard, it will overflow your gutters even if they have been just cleaned. If hail clogs your downspouts, the gutters will overflow too.

G2. Pay for the results, not by the hour.
Please keep in mind that we don’t price jobs based on worked hours or linear feet of the length of your gutters. That means whether the job takes 30 minutes or 3 hours, your problem will be solved. That means clogs and obstructions in your gutters & downspouts will be cleared, and they will be running freely. However, if the cleaning takes only 30 min, we’ll still charge the full price we quoted you. Our pricing is not based on worked minutes or hours alone but rather takes into account the value of our equipment, expertise, insurance coverage, a lost opportunity of completing another job while coming to your property, and the inherent risks associated with working at heights.

G3. Debris disposal.
The debris from your gutters & downspouts will be disposed of in your green and black garbage bins. If you don’t want that, please let us know before the appointment, and we can haul it away for an additional charge.

G4. Walking on your roof.
If your roof is walkable (pitch, conditions), we will, most likely, walk on your roof to speed up the cleaning process. If you don’t like that, please let us know ahead of time. Usually, we can arrange the cleaning from the ground instead (for additional charges).

G5. Attached houses.
If your home is attached to another home (duplex, townhouse, row-house, condo), or your garage is attached to another garage, we can sure clean the gutters of your house (garage). However, because they are connected to neighbour(s), you will probably get their debris in your gutters and downspouts again. We understand sometimes it’s hard to deal with neighbours, but we can’t clean their side without getting paid, unfortunately. We offer a discount in case you wish to convince your attached neighbour.

G6. Work limitation.
Unfortunately, we can not clean underground drains and pipes, you’ll need a plumber for that. In addition, we can not clean gutters that have openings less than 2″ (5 cm).

G7. Stay inside or stay away.
We always ring a doorbell on arrival (except for multi-family properties). If no one answers the door, we assess the job and commence the cleaning. We kindly ask everyone to stay away from the active work zone for safety: the technicians can’t hear or see everything properly while running power equipment. In addition, keep in mind the ‘dropped and falling objects’ hazard.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING:
We will clean your gutters, eavestroughs, and downspouts. We cherish our reputation, and we are your gutter cleaning solution. We want to be your reliable connection for that.

WINDOW WASHING:

W1. Kindly ensure that windows are unobstructed from any furniture, flower pots, or decorations. Our focus is on cleaning, not moving or rearranging things. Should we come across delicate or weighty items blocking a window, we’ll exercise caution and refrain from touching them due to concerns about potential repercussions.

W2. Please note: the quoted price (exterior or interior) is for the house windows above the ground only.
Skylights, sunrooms, basement windows, garage windows, railing glass, glass shower, or mirrors will cost extra unless otherwise has been specified. Please mention the additional surfaces, that need to be washed, before the appointment. Otherwise, we may not have time to do it before our next job.

W3. Please note: the price provided covers regular window cleaning. Any cleaning that requires the use of razor blading, chemicals, or post-construction washing will cost more.

W4. For liability and safety reasons: we don’t remove screens, we don’t take slider windows apart for washing, and we don’t wash glass that has cracks or has been broken.

W5. Some windows (and skylights) appear dirty even after the cleaning. Usually, it’s because the seal has been damaged and moisture got inside the double glazing. Unfortunately, cleaning won’t solve this problem.

PRESSURE /POWER WASHING:

P1. We’ll do our best to make it as clean as possible. We possess powerful equipment and our technicians are skilled. However, we are not magicians. If your house has never seen a pressure washer, we won’t be able to clean it to the brand-new stage.
For example, the top 3 panels of your siding (just below the roof) accumulate more dust and dirt than others. If they have never been washed, even the chemicals won’t take the dirt off.

P2. Please close all windows and cover anything that can be damaged by water. We won’t intentionally direct water at fragile and electrical elements, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.

P3. We strongly advise ordering window washing with pressure washing. Otherwise, the window glass will have streaks and residue.

P4. It’s almost impossible to pressure wash soffits after they’ve been accumulating dust for a few years, so unless you really want to clean them (at extra charge) we don’t spray them.

Fine Print:

1. Gutter “cleaning” is not literal in its traditional definition of cleaning “Free from marks, stains, or dust”. Your gutters are not kitchen counters, so they won’t be that clean. It is understood by both parties that the primary intent of a gutter cleaning is to allow proper water flow and drainage from the roof surface, through gutters, down downspouts, and exit to grade or underground drainage system. Some amount of shingle grit (granules), debris, sand, or mud may remain in the gutter but will not affect water flow. We do not rinse, wash, or wipe gutters unless that is requested (for additional charges) before the job.

2. It is understood under this agreement that the customer represents that their property’s roof is structurally sound, and is able to withstand the weight of workers and their tools. In the event that the roof does not meet these conditions, any resulting damages are the sole responsibility of the customer, and “Gutter Cleaning on a Budget” shall not be responsible for said damages. This includes but is not limited to, broken or cracked roofing shingles (asphalt, tile, slate, cedar, etc) roof decking, and rafter boards.

3. No warranties, expressed or implied, are offered under this agreement. “Gutter Cleaning on a Budget” shall not be responsible for property damage of any kind caused either directly or indirectly by water-related damage including but not limited to, mold and mildew, drywall, landscaping, window, siding, wood trim, or structural damage.

4. The work is to be completed by skilled workmen, in a professional and workmanlike manner in accordance with industry standards.

5. Work will be performed Monday through Sunday starting at 9:00 AM till sunset. Weather, and favorable working conditions permitting. Power equipment will be used within the city of Calgary’s noise bylaw.

6. Customer must provide “Gutter Cleaning on a Budget” notice of any damage to the property that the customer believes is “Gutter Cleaning on a Budget” responsibility within three (3) business days following completion of the Project.

Q: Do I need to be home for the cleaning?
A: NO, unless you prefer to. We always ring the doorbell on arrival. However, we will CHECK and CLEAN your entire rain gutter system regardless if anyone answered the door or not. If there are any questions, we’ll call you while at your property. After we finish, if you picked such a service package, you’ll be provided with ‘the after’ pictures. In addition, we offer the CLOG-FREE guarantee* which protects you even after you paid for our services.

the Best eavestrough, gutter & window cleaning in Calgary

Q: What is the ‘CLOG-FREE’ guarantee*?
A: The ‘CLOG-FREE’ guarantee means that we stand behind our work. We will check and clean your entire rain gutter system (except for underground drains), whether you are present at the property or not. If you believe we may have overlooked anything, we will gladly return to double-check without any additional cost.
We provide a guarantee that your rain gutter system will be completely clear of blockages and obstacles once our cleaning process is complete. This condition will persist for the specified guaranteed duration OR until the occurrence of the next windstorm, rainstorm, hailstorm, leaf fall, or snowfall. It is important to note that we cannot influence the forces of nature, and there is a possibility of your gutters and downspouts becoming clogged again, much like how a car gets dirty again at some point after being taken to a car wash.

Q: What is the ‘FREE bird nest removal’**?
A: If you purchase Value or Premium cleaning packages, we’ll remove bird nest(s) WITHIN THE BUILDINGS that we are getting done, with no additional charges. Unless we have to take something apart (soffit, dryer’s vent, etc). If the nest is in a tree but safely reachable from the buildings, we can remove it too.
The nest can’t have eggs or little birds in it (bylaw regulations). In addition, we can’t disturb endangered birds in any way (bylaw regulations). We don’t just remove any nests that we see, you have to make a request for that (prior to the job).
Please note: 1 big nest or 2 small nests per job only. Please note: insects’ and animals’ nests are not included in this offer.

Q: What is your Price Match + 5% off”*** offer?
A: Should you find a lower Calgary price for your RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY for gutter cleaning before we’ve scheduled an appointment we will try to match their price and add another 5% off.
Please provide us with an internet or email quote for your property address.
We will verify the price and when the cleaning is available, and then beat the lower price by five percent (5%). The internet/email quotes are eligible from local service providers (within Calgary city limits) only.
“Price Match +5% off” DOES NOT apply to advertising errors or misprints, sale pricing, special educational prices, restricted offers, mail order offers, competitor rebates, coupons, premiums, free or bonus offers, limited or minimum quantity or limited time offers, close-outs, liquidations, clearances, and financing offers. Offer does not apply to advertised prices, quotes from Kijiji, or quotes from companies without websites and/or without clear contact information.
Handwritten or verbal estimates/quotes will not be considered, sorry.

Q: Can you find all the leaks in my gutters?
A: We only do it on a complaint basis. That means that Instead of performing a rain gutter system-wide inspection, we ask customers to point out specific issues they’re experiencing, and we will address those reported problems. This was we don’t get blamed for up-selling our services.

Q: Why do gutter repairs cost so much?
A: Think about it this way: we are cleaners, so basically a “car wash” for your rain gutter system. So similar to cars, cleaning is generally cheaper and faster than any repairs.
For example, we charge $59 (2024) to repair a leaky corner. That includes a tube of sealant which costs $17 and leaves us with $42 for labour. On average, it takes from 30 min to an hour to repair a corner. What if the patch doesn’t last a month? We have to travel to and from the customer again, spend about the same time for the repair, and use another tube of sealant. After all, there is a very small, if any, profit margin on top of our costs. If we compare it to cleaning, we charge $49 (2024) to clean gutters on a double-car garage. The work usually takes less than 30 min and we rarely have to come back.
Customers often get upset over repair work and its costs, but we are not magicians, we need to make money and stand behind our work or we won’t be here next year 🙁

Q: How often should I clean my eavestroughs?
A: Here in Calgary a recommended gutter cleaning schedule is TWICE a year (spring and fall), if your budget allows you to do so.
If you can only afford to do it once a year, do it in the fall, before water freezes and breaks eavestroughs and/or downspouts. Remember that it’s cheaper to maintain your eavestroughs than to repair them, so call your favorite gutter cleaning company and schedule their visit.

Q: Why do your prices increase every season?
A: Unfortunately, our costs increase every year. That includes insurance (we have to carry 3 different types), gasoline, equipment, advertisement, and labor. Don’t forget the inflation rate either. We have to slowly increase our prices to stay in business. Over the years we’ve seen a lot of competitors that went out of business, so it doesn’t matter how cheap they charged, you can’t even hire them anymore.

Q: How long does gutter cleaning take?
A: It depends on different factors. However, in general, with a job assessment at the beginning and quality assurance at the end, it’ll take 1hr to 2hr for an average house in Calgary.
Please keep in mind that we don’t price jobs based on hours or linear feet of the length of your gutters. That means whether the jobs take 30 minutes, or 3 hours your problem will be solved: clogs and obstructions in your gutters and downspouts will be cleaned and they will be running freely.

Q: How much does gutter cleaning cost?
A: Different companies use different quotation systems.
Instead of going by the linear foot or time consumption, we go by how tall your roof is, because it increases our work at heights risk. We take into consideration what kind of roof it is, because a shingled roof is much easier to work with than a clay-tiled roof. Also, we keep in mind the square footage of your house and if you have gutter guards installed.

Q: Why does cleaning gutters with gutter guards cost more?
A: Cleaning gutters with gutter guards (covers, netting) installed will cost more due to the added labor and time required for cleaning, the complexity of cleaning trapped debris, increased safety measures and equipment, the need for specific maintenance knowledge, and the potential voiding of guard warranties without proper upkeep. The costs can vary based on factors such as guard type, property size, location, and service provider choice. While the gutter guards (or covers) reduce cleaning frequency, regular maintenance remains essential for optimal system functionality but will cost more in this situation.

Q: I recently had my gutters cleaned, but I’m still experiencing a leak in one of the corners.
A: The leakage is most likely due to the worn-off sealant in that particular corner, which is unrelated to the cleaning process.
When gutters are installed, two sections are joined together at the corners, requiring the application of sealant to create a watertight connection. Over time, exposure to sunlight, precipitation, and other environmental factors can cause the sealant to deteriorate. Replacing the sealant is necessary at some point, similar to repairing a tire puncture. While we don’t push for unnecessary repairs, sometimes they become essential, and it’s up to the customer to determine if they fit within their budget

Q: Can I pre-schedule gutter cleaning for when the leaves have dropped in the fall?
A: As much as we would like to help, a very rapid fall season in Calgary messes up all the plans usually.
In many cases, freezing temperatures begin before all the leaves have fallen, making it impossible to properly clean gutters and downspouts. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a good cleaning when your eavestroughs have ice (or snow) in them. Additionally, Calgary’s diverse micro-climates mean that leaf-fall times can vary across different areas. However, we can pencil you in and will try to time it for you. The good news is if we don’t clean it in autumn, we’ll clean it first thing in spring.

Q: What is the latest in the season that the crews are out clearing the gutters?
A: Some years we clean gutters up until Christmas, other years we have to stop in early September. It’s Calgary, you know 🙂

Q: What do you do with the debris?
A: It depends on the job. Most of the time we put the debris into your green (or black) garbage bin, and we ALWAYS clean up after we finish. We respect not only your property but your neighbours too. Please note: We charge a fee for debris removal from the site, $10/bag.

Q: Can I clean my eavestroughs by myself?
A: YES, you sure can. It can be done as your Saturday DIY project. However, remember, that cleaning eavestroughs can be hazardous to your health. Ladders can slip when you reach too far sideways to grab debris from a gutter. If you clean gutters while standing on a roof, you can lose your balance and fall. Please have a correct size ladder for the job, so you don’t have to reach far or be in an unbalanced pose. Please use ladder standoffs to keep it stabilized. Amazon.ca or your local hardware store has a lot of different gutter cleaning tools that will make your job much easier.

Q: Do you repair eavestroughs?
A: We repair downspouts, but not the eavestroughs (except leaky corners). However, 50% of the time a good clean is all your eavestroughs need, and cleaning is cheaper than repairs. We offer free estimates for residential, so there is no risk in asking for a quote.

Q: Can you replace a downspout?
A: YES, we can replace, repair, or extend your existing downspout. We can install additional downspouts too.

Q: Should I clean the gutters on my garage?
A: If you care for your garage, then YES.
Just like the rain gutter system on your house, if it’s not checked and cleaned regularly, it doesn’t serve the purpose (which is to discharge rainwater or melting snow from the roof properly so that the water doesn’t damage the structure of the building). In addition, unlike our competitors, we offer a very affordable price for cleaning garage gutters.

Q: Do you clean eavestroughs with a pressure washer or do you use a vacuum?
A: We prefer using a vacuum or a special gutter scoop. We can use a pressure washer as per the customer’s request, but we advise against it, as it creates a mess. However, every job is unique, so let’s discuss your house in particular. We have a FREE QUOTE FORM on our website, and it’s available 24/7.
